...More Recent Pics

Fabbed this light switch guard for the fine folks at the Rieger. No more surprise black-outs for those guys.

Had some lunch at Grinders with my lil sis.
Woke up too early one day. The view from my front porch.
Checked out the THC and a cool local band named DREK at the Granada in Lawrence.
If it can still snow, then I can still turn my Christmas lights on... just sayin.
Polishing a carb is like plucking eye lashes. Did that, rebuilt it, mounted it, and hopefully my 4 into 1 design will work. Got my fingers crossed.

Was 80* on Friday, so got the bike out. Visited my lil sis at the Rieger and was asked to make a gaurd for a 4-toggle light switch.... this is what I came up with. About 18ga stainless.

Drank a late lunch at Grunauer's
Visited the fine folks at Freaks on Noland where I scored a steak. Thanks Zeke!
Fabbed this lil breather and got some more done on the GS750 project.

East Coast Trip 2012 - Day 7 - 11

I've been draggin on too long, so I'm gunna lump the last 5 days together. Argo and I lived with Shawn and his family for 3 days. During that time we rebuilt his carb, changed his intake manifold gaskets, saw some cool local bike shops, rode to Virginia beach and had an overall great time. Shawn and his family took us in like we were one of their own and for that truly grateful. I hope to see them again in the near future.
From Virginia, we headed toward Pigeon Forge, TN at the foot of the Smoky Mountains. Camped, took in some local flavor, and headed out early in near freezing temps. I packed some cold gear, but I wasn't ready for that during August. Got through the Smokies and hit the Tail of the Dragon. If you don't know about that, look it up. Highly recommended if you have a motorcycle and REALLY like to ride it. 318 curves in 11 miles. KICK ASS!
Stayed in Nashville the next night. Checked out the honky tonks on Broadway and sampled some local favorite bbq. I'm not a fan. Any bbq from KC would blow their minds! Split a cheap hotel and thought we'd save some money. Pshhhh! The place was sketchy at best. Had to lock the bikes down and chain them together. Also, slept on top of the blankets... a real classy place.
Took off early in the A.M. and planned to make the long haul home. About an hour east of St. Louis I thought I saw somethin on Argo's rear tire. At the next stop, found out his threads were showin through. Fuck. I told him it would be fine and we'd check it at the next stop. FUCK! It doubled in size and grew some friends. We dropped the air pressure to 20lbs or so and limped it home. In all, I rode 3900 miles in 11 days. I have memories, stories to tell, and new friends that will last forever. Lookin forward to the 2013 trip!

Fanny packs are still accepted in Virginia.
A cool Shovel in ASX Motorcycles.
The next 4 pics are from Departure Motorworks in VA. A real cool dude with a real cool shop and alotta knowledge. I coulda stayed here all day.
